A Little About Us...

Nestled in the beautiful mountains of central Vermont on scenic Route 17 lies the Jerusalem Corners Country Store. The store was founded by Gardner and Hilda Orvis in 1969. After a number of owners and many years, some attention was needed.

We became the new owners in August of 2003 and have made many changes both inside and out. We brightened it up and gave it a friendly atmosphere, and the store has become a vital asset to the community. We pride ourselves on our friendly, helpful sevice and pleasant, clean environment. We are more than groceries and gas - we've become a meeting place where locals and travelers enjoy good conversation. We welcome you to visit our store located "HALF WAY TO HEAVEN"

Our speciality : Our very own Pure Vermont Maple Syrup straight from our own maple sugarbush under the Norris Sugarworks label. At Norris Sugarworks we are proud of the high quality and sweet clean taste of our pure maple syrup. We are equally as proud to be the third generation of Norris' to produce maple syrup from this stand of maple trees, located high in the hills of south Starksboro, Vermont. We call this stand of trees the sugarbush. My grandparents first started tapping these trees in the 1940's, then my folks took over the annual tapping rights in the 1950's, and then in the 1990's, it was our turn. So around the middle of January each year, we start preparing for the annual sap run which usually begins in early March and ends whenever it wants to, usually in early April. We feel that the side hill slopes and steep ledges througout our sugarbush contribute to the truly superb flavor of our syrup. Sugaring is our favorite rite of spring and we look forward to sharing it with you!

In sweetness,
The Norris Family
