How to Get There

From I-89 North or South, take exit 1. Take Route 4 West (towards Quechee/Woodstock). The store is 6 1/2 miles from the exit, on the left side of the road midway between Quechee and Woodstock across from the Taftsville covered bridge on the beautiful Ottequechee River.  Lots of parking and easy access.

In Vermont, you'll find the Taftsville Country Store nestled in the scenic Ottauquechee River Valley, on Route 4 midway between Woodstock and Quechee.

This gem of a store is the centerpiece of the Taftsville Historic District, a quiet residential hamlet of less than one hundred people. Across from the store see one of Vermont's oldest and longest covered bridges, a turn of the century brick powerhouse and the stately Taft homes.  Our store has one of the finest assortments of cheese, gourmet foods, maple syrup, wine, cigars, gift baskets and maple cured hams you will find in Vermont.

Daniel Taft & Sons built the red brick store in 1840 to serve the local community and the many thriving enterprises that had appeared in and around Taftsville. One hundred and seventy years later, the store still serves as the village hub where locals meet each morning to collect their mail at the Post Office located in the back of the store, get a cup of coffee and grab a newspaper.

Step back in time into our warm and friendly environment – store keepers Vickie and Courtney Brooks will do their best to make sure your Vermont Country Store experience is one that you will remember.  An easy stop on the way to Woodstock Villiage, Killington or Quechee – if you can’t find it here odds are you probably don’t need it.

Check out or mail order as well at www.taftsville.com – send some “Vermont” to friends and family!
